What are the benefits of reformer pilates

how does reformer pilates differ from mat pilates?

3

The primary difference is the equipment used and the type of resistance. While mat Pilates focuses on body weight resistance on a mat and small apparatus like balls and bands, Reformer Pilates utilizes the reformer machine for additional resistance and support, allowing for a wider range of exercises.

why on demand reformer pilates?

4

Because busy lives deserve high-quality movement without scheduling barriers.

how does it work?

Our touchscreen kiosk lets you select your preferred class length and level. Connect your Bluetooth headphones (or use ours), follow the instructions on screen, and enjoy a self-guided Pilates session on your own schedule.

Absolutely. Beginner sessions offer step-by-step instruction and are great for those new to Reformer Pilates. We provide a tutorial/orientation before your class starts. Our beginner sessions are also designed to familiarize you with the Reformer safely and effectively.

Is it ok for beginners?

6

Nope! We have lots of first timers joining, and since our classes cater to all levels, you’ll be in good company.

Will i be the only beginner?

7

Do I need to be "fit" before starting Reformer Pilates?

8

Not at all! Reformer Pilates is for everyone, regardless of where you’re starting from. Our instructors will tailor the exercises to suit your fitness level, and you'll get stronger with every class.

Currently our machines have a 300 lb. weight limit.

If you fall outside this limit, please stay in touch as we plan to add more machines down the road!

Easy! Once you clear orientation, you’ll be invited to download our app to view the schedule, book a class, and purchase a class pack or membership.

Once you select a membership you will receive a key fob that will unlock TRL for you. Credit Pack holders will use a keypad to enter using a unique code paired to your account.

how do i get into TRL?

13

The key to a great Pilates session is feeling comfortable and free to move. Here’s what we recommend:

• Fitted Activewear: Wear clothing that’s form-fitting but comfortable. Leggings, bike shorts, and fitted tanks or tees are perfect. Avoid baggy clothes as they can get in the way when you’re on the Reformer bed.

• Grip Socks (a Must-Have!): For both safety and hygiene, grip socks are required for all Reformer Pilates classes. These special socks have rubber grips on the soles, giving you extra traction and stability on the machine. If you don’t have a pair yet, don’t stress —we’ve got them available to purchase at TRL during your first orientation.

• No Shoes: Pilates is done barefoot or with grip socks, so you’ll be able to kick off your trainers as soon as you arrive.

Pro Tip: Opt for breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics that keep you cool as you work up a sweat. You can also bring a gym towel, or use one of ours, to stay extra comfortable!

what should i wear?

14

One of the best parts about Reformer Pilates is that it’s low-maintenance — no heavy gym bags required! Here’s all you need:

• Water Bottle: Stay hydrated! Pilates is low-impact but still a workout, and hydration is key to recovery.

• Small Towel: If you tend to work up a sweat, a small towel can help you stay comfortable during class. You’re welcome to use one of ours, or bring your favorite towel with you.

• Positive Vibes: This might sound cheesy, but bring a positive attitude. Our instructors are here to support you, so show up with an open mind, ready to try something new.

That’s it!

what should i bring?

15

You’ll have to book a 3-session orientation in order to get cleared for On-demand use. Once cleared, start with Beginner Foundations or your recommended intro session based on experience.

why group classes?

19

They maximize availability and create energy and community.

Group classes help us offer more availability during high-demand times and ensure everyone gets access when they need it most.

20

No. The Reformer Lab is built around on-demand and group reformer training. Some sessions feel quieter and focused, while others bring higher group energy, especially during peak times.

21

No. Members book sessions as needed using credits. There are no fixed weekly commitments.

Pop-up/guest instructor classes are special events and typically have separate pricing set by the instructor. Credits do not apply unless noted.
